Customer Reviews

11/10 we make it a point to visit Da Bald Guy's at least 2 to 3 times per our 7 day visit to Waikiki each year! We originally stumbled upon this place in 2022 just looking for some food on the north shore not realizing they were part of a Netflix show hype, but man was it the best random "let's try that" we ever had. Super bummed they stopped the combo plates last year but as of Jan 2026 they are back on the menu!!! Recommendations in order 1. Pan Fried Poke in Spicy Mayo (10/10) 2. Kalbi Beef 3. Grilled Steak 4. Garlic Shrimp If you're a couple or duo, highly recommend getting a combo and splitting for the best variety! The portions are quite large and my gf always has some saved for left overs later in the day. Worth the drive and while up there make a day trip to the Polynesian Cultural Center! (Go to exhibits)

They are located in the Kahuku sugar mill to the right of the Seven brothers bakery. They were unfortunately sold out of the kalbi when I was there at around 1 PM, otherwise, I would've gotten the combo with the kalbi and salmon. Went ahead and got the salmon, and my god the furikake salmon was absolutely incredible. Perfectly crispy breading, tender and juicy salmon, the mac salad was delicious, all on a bed of white rice. This place 100% lives up to the hype. Definitely would drive all the way back up here from Waikiki to try the galbi next time.

We heard about Da Bald Guy food truck from friends, and saw him on local cooking shows. Heard some days they sell out, so we got there around 11:15 on a Thursday. My dad got the Cajun garlic shrimp, bf got the garlic shrimp, and I got the furikake salmon. Entrees are $20 each - portions are huge. Both Dad and bf said they preferred Da Bald Guy shrimp to Giovanni's because it was less oily and more flavorful. Furikake salmon was great. We probably could have taken leftovers, but we ate it all. Parking was not bad in the shared lot, and staff were friendly and fast. We were able to sit in the shade next to the neighboring truck, and we explored the market and coffee shops after. Definitely recommend the next North Shore trip/for any visitors.

Da Bald Guy food truck is an absolute gem! I ordered the boneless kalbi breakfast plate and the chopped steak breakfast plate, and both dishes AMAZING . The boneless kalbi was the star of the morning, perfectly marinated with that deep savory sweet flavor that kalbi lovers dream about. Every piece was unbelievably tender, practically melting like butter with each bite. The seasoning was balanced and bold without being overpowering, and the meat had that beautiful glossy finish that shows it was cooked with care. The chopped steak breakfast plate was just as impressive. The steak was juicy and flavorful, and covered in delicious caramelized onions. They were absolute fire. Rich, sweet, slightly smoky, and perfectly cooked, they tied the entire dish together and lifted every bite. The portions were huge, truly generous, so you definitely get your money's worth. From flavor to portion size to quality, Da Bald Guy delivers big on every level. If you want breakfast plates that are hearty, satisfying, and full of incredible flavor, this food truck is a must try. Highly recommend!

Dawg, I had this a month ago and am still thinking about it all the time. For sure my favorite meal during our trip, maybe one of my favorite meals in memory. Bit on the pricier side, crowded due to it's popularity but it's worth it. The garlic shrimp and steak plate was perfect. No notes.

I made the drive to get here when it opened at 6am and on a rainy day. It's about 70 min from Waikiki to this food truck area. I ordered the combo of boneless kalbi and the pan fried poke. Got it on top of rice and Mac salad. The boneless kalbi is amazing. Most tender kalbi I've ever had. Texture was just amazing. Melted in my mouth. Rice cooked just right. A bold creamy feel for the Mac salad. The fried poke isn't my cup of tea but I can see why people enjoy it. I would come back for a kalbi plate and try other dishes next time. There's tables to sit outside with umbrellas as well. Service was nice and easy going.
